Files transfer

Last update 29 May 2002 by P. Le Roux

 How should we proceed ?
The contributors have uploaded their files through the file upload web form. The script has automatically stored the files on the web server in a folder named with the programme code, e.g. : The paper WEPRI036 is archived in \\epac02.org\Dfs\EPAC02 PAPER UPLOAD\WE\WEPRI036
(In the folder \\epac02.org\Dfs\EPAC02 PAPER UPLOAD, there are 5 folders: MO, TU, WE, TH. FR)

\\epac02.org\Dfs\EPAC02 PAPER UPLOAD is the source folder for the processing.
Once you get a paper to work on (have a look at the web interface page), let say it's this WEPRI036 paper :

  • You search the folder WEPRI036 in this source folder.
  • You copy the whole WEPRI036  folder in your working folder on your machine.
  • You process the .ps file (see this doc)...
  • When the processing is finished, you copy the WEPRI036  folder which is in your working folder in the archive folder \\epac02.org\Dfs\archive\WE.

If you are working on a PC, it might be pretty easy, if you work with the tool describe below:
On you desktop or at least in the Start menu, you should find a soft called "EPAC2002", launch it and you should a program like this one:

First of all, if the folders c:\buffer, c:\working folder and c:\archive do not exist on your PC, create them.
Then click on the "Folders Location" menu, a window will appear:

Fill in the different fields according to the image above and click the 'OK" button. You are now ready to start working!
  • Enter the programme code of the paper you are going to work on.
  • Click on the "Search paper" button. In the program found the paper, you should see the list of file in the source folder.

  • Click the "Copy on my PC" button to copy the whole source folder in your working folder.

  • Process the .ps file (see this document)
  • When the processing is finished, click on the "Archive" button to move the folder from your working folder to the archives folders (on your machine and on the server)

Note that if a the folder, e.g. : MOPDO020 already exists in the archive folders, then the MOPDO020 folder on your PC will me move in it with the name MOPDO020v1 (\\epac02.org\Dfs\archive\MO\MOPDO020\MOPDO020v1). And if MOPDO020v1 exists then it will be MOPDO020v2...
In case you start working on a paper and you can't finish the processing. You have the possibility to move the paper folder from your working folder to the Buffer folder by clicking on the "Search / Archive in Buffer Folder" check box. Then, you have also the possibility to search in this Buffer folder instead of the source folder by clicking on the "Search / Archive in Buffer Folder" check box and then copy the paper folder from the buffer folder to the working folder.
