Funding: Work supported by EU design study (contract 515873 -DIRACsecondary-Beams) Simulation studies of the transverse stability of the FAIR synchrotrons have been started. The simulation code PATRIC has been developed in order to predict coherent instability thresholds with space charge and different impedance sources. Some examples of code validation using the numerical Schottky noise and analytical stability boundaries will be discussed. |
