Motion Correction in Nuclear Medicine Studies
|
||
Nuclear medicine is a type of medical diagnostics involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Detection and correction of patient motion during the collection of diagnostic data is an important step in the processing of radionuclide medicine studies, since even a small shift of the patient's body at this moment can affect the reliability of diagnostics results. Algorithms for motion correction in single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and dynamic scintigraphy are considered. Using optical flow for radionuclide studies data is suggested.
