  This paper describes beam extraction system for pulse linear electron accelerator ILU-14 with energy range 7.5-10 MeV and beam power up to 100 kW. The main aim of this work was to achieve the uniform dose field in radiation zone. Admissible dose nonuniformity is of no more than ± 5% along the scanning length up to 1 m (if necessary, the scanning length may be reduced). Geometrical and electron-optical characteristics of all the beam channel elements were optimized after computer simulation of electron trajectories. To achieve the required nonuniformity of dose field additional electromagnets were installed. These magnets realize beam focusing and centering of the beam endwise of the channel, as well as correction of the scanning field. Control system of magnets power supply allows the online correction of electron beam.

Pulse Power System for New Industrial Accelerator ILU-14

  Accelerator ILU-14 consist of multi resonator accelerating structure and two cascade HF generator. Two cascade HF generator consists of primary generator and four terminal generators. It has demanded development of a pulse power source capable to provide 16 MW pulse power. Choice of creation of the modulator reaching such parameters or using of several standard modulators supplying accelerators of ILU type (up to 30 KV, 250 A, 500 mks, 50 Hz), has been made in favour of the joint work of three modulators powering HF generator. This report consist of the way of an unitization of three modulators for a power supply of the two cascade HF generator, It's describe a problem of this power supply configuration and the way of their solution. Also the control system of three modulator pulse power structure and results of the work are presented.

  Radio-frequency electron accelerators ILU have electron energy range 0.8-10 MeV and beam power up to 100 kW. ILU are compact and reliable accelerators with pulse beam. These accelerators are using for polymer modification and sterilization of medical goods. ILU-8 accelerator with maximum electron energy of 1 MeV with local radiation shielding can be installed in existing buildings or inexpensive new modern buildings. BINP permanently modifies accelerators to suit new trends in radiation technologies. Newly developed ILU-14 accelerator as well as ILU-10 accelerator with increased energy and relative big power are used for radiation sterilization by electron beam and X-rays.
