EDGE RADIATION AT SIBERIA-2 STORAGE RING

Abstract

At the present time an edge radiation generated by a relativistic electron beam at fringe fields of bending magnets in storage rings attracts widespread attention as a source of intensive ultraviolet and infrared radiation. In this report, we present the numerical simulation of flux and spatial distribution of edge radiation at Siberia-2 storage ring. It is shown that we will gain in intensity considerably for the radiation in a wide spectral range below 350 eV as compared with standard synchrotron radiation from regular part of bending field.

FEASIBILITY OF PRE-BUNCHED FEL BASED ON COHERENT DIFFRACTION RADIATION

Abstract

Feasibility of pre-bunched Free Electron Laser (FEL) based on Coherent Diffraction Radiation (CDR) generated in an open resonator formed by two semi-parabaloidal mirrors was examined. It was shown that in such resonator a significant increase of the radiation photon yield might be achieved.

POSSIBILITY TO REACH THE DIFFRACTION LIMITED X-RAY SOURCE IN KURCHATOV CENTER OF SYNCHROTRON RADIATION

Abstract

The creation of the diffraction limited radiation source (DLS) on the base of an in – vacuum mini-undulator with wavelength 6 Å is considered at a storage ring SIBERIA-2. Main parameters of undulator as a DLS are defined. Spectral characteristics of undulator radiation taking into account the electron beam parameters are obtained.

In addition method and possibility to obtain the minimal electron beam emittance in SIBERIA-2 storage ring, influence of insertion device (ID) on emittance, energy spread, linear and nonlinear motion of electron beam and dynamic aperture are the subjects of studying.
