BYPASS SYSTEM FOR SHUNTING OF ELECTROMAGNETS FOR ACCELERATORS AND STORAGE RINGS |

Medvedko Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, Russia Abstract The bypass module was developed for correction of magnetic field in the bending magnet gap through partially taking current away from the coil. The SHUNT-20 bypass module that is presented in this work is able to take a current of up to 20A away from the coil of electromagnet. The device developed allows both recuperation of the taken energy to the main power source of the electromagnet and energy dump to a ballast load. The bypass module is remotely monitored and controlled through a CAN-bus. The SHUNT-20 modules are made by the Switch Mode Technology with application of the up-to-date components in the "Euromechanics" standard. ª – corresponding author |

FOUR-QUADRANT POWER SUPPLIES FOR STEERING ELECTROMAGNETS FOR ELECTRON-POSITRON COLLIDER |

Medvedko Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, Russia Abstract Specialized power supplies for electromagnets for accelerators and charged particle storage rings have been designed and manufactured at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics for many years [1]. It turned out to be optimal to divide power supplies for correction elements into two groups according to their output parameters. This work presents two types of power supplies for steering magnets with a maximum output current of ±6À (MPS-6) and ±25À (MPS-25). The power supplies are manufactured under the Switch Mode Technology in the "Euromechanics" standard with application of up-to-date components. ª – corresponding author |
