Description

This screen is used by Editors during the Quality Assurance or QA Process.  QA is a check by an Editor other than the one who processed the original PostScript file to ensure that the papers available for QA (green dotted papers – mentioned under Change Status) correspond to publication criteria.

Editors select papers to QA via the pop-up boxes grouping processed papers by date of presentation and by clicking on “Submit” and then on the link “View PDF”.

If the QA is OK, the Editor selects QA Complete – Paper OK in the field “Select an Action”.  The paper OK flag is a required flag which together with others (i.e. paper posted, manned, quality OK, etc.) identify the paper as OK for publication.

If the QA failed, the Editor can attempt to re-work it by uploading the files from the server via the File Upload button.  If the Editor is unable to produce a paper corresponding to publication criteria, he selects the option QA Failed – Assign Red Dot in the “Select an Action” field.  The reasons for rejecting the contribution are entered into a Comments field by the Editor - the Editor’s comments are visible by the author when logged into his account.

The author will then be required to re-submit usable files.

Contributions which fail QA may be retrieved by other Editors.  To do this it is necessary to maintain the Green Dot status, and to allow another Editor to retrieve the paper for QA.

The Conference Editor can also retrieve and re-assign papers.
