Description |
The names of those persons with privileges to re-classify abstracts and also to propose type of presentation changes are entered by the Conference Administrator into the "Main Classification" table: /maint.tab?tab_name=classification_codes&order_by=classification_descr The link "experts" leads to a screen whereby privileges are entered for individuals /expert.code?code=01 Abstracts are classified to facilitate their grouping by subject matter, their approval for presentation by the Programme Committee, and their later management within the conference programme. Submitting authors attribute a classification at the time of abstract submission, The functionality developed for PAC'05 allows designated persons (see privileges above) to re-classify abstracts improperly classified by submitting authors or as the programme requires, and also to propose a change of presentation type, usually from poster to contributed or invited oral. The interface developed for PAC'05 allows the Programme Committee via one screen: - to review abstracts to ensure that the classifications are correct and to propose changes; - to propose changes in presentation option, usually from poster to contributed oral, or invited oral, etc. Since these two activities are distinct, the SPMS will be modified to manage them via two separate interfaces. The Abstract Reclassification screen allows a search by Presentation Type (the pulldown list shows the data entered in the table Presentation Type (Contributions) and by Main Classification (the pulldown list shows the data entered in the Main Classification table), and provides the following Guidelines: To review abstract classification: Use the "Presentation" pull-down menu to select the type of presentation you want to review (poster, contributed, oral, etc.). Use the "Classification" menu to select a specific classification. To view all submissions within a classification, leave the "Presentation" menu blank. To modify presentation type, and in particular to select contributions submitted in response to the call for papers oral and/or suggest reclassifications: For posters, you'll see an option to nominate the abstract as a contributed oral. For all abstracts, you'll see a "Proposed Classification" menu that allows you to flag an abstract for reclassification. Note that your name will be displayed with your proposal and that conflicting proposals will not overwrite each other. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page. |
