During the beam power upgrading process of CSNS to 50kW from 2018 to 2019, many improvements have been made for the front end of CSNS. In this paper, the commissioning and improvement of front end as well as the laboratory construction are introduced. The improvements mainly focus on solving the stability of ion source and the spark of Radio Frequncy quadrupole (RFQ) caused by the pre-chopped beam into RFQ.
