It will provide a 70 mA proton beam at an energy of 68 MeV to the SIS18 synchrotron. The linac consists of an ECR ion source, followed by a ladder RFQ and a normalconducting linac based on CH-type cavities. High beam currents and strict beam quality requirements were the main drivers for the beam dynamics design. To ensure matching between the individual sections and validate the injector design as a whole, end to end simulations were performed using TraceWin with 3D fieldmaps of the CH-linac. In this paper, the final cavity design, as well as the results of end to end simulations and error studies are discussed.
