It falls short of the quality required for the high-gain x-ray regime above 1 keV, mainly due to the large energy spread and small peak current, bit is sufficient to reach low-gain regime. Here we explore the parameter space of a low gain XFEL oscillator, to establish the feasibility range of such a device for the Petra upgrade project.
