With the FAIR project the complexity of the accelerator facility increases furthermore and for efficiency reasons it is recommended to establish a high level of automation for future operation. The PEP (parameter evolution project) has been launched at GSI operations group in 2017 to investigate the potential of a settings optimization using evolutionary Algorithms. The working proof of principle has already been tested at the Cryring injector. The latest improvements and the further Development of the Parameter Evolution Project will be shown.
