In this paper, we describe recent work aimed at improving Zgoubi's speed and flexibility. In particular, we describe a new implementation of the Zgoubi tracking algorithm that requires significantly less memory and arithmetic. And we describe a new algorithm that performs symplectic tracking through field maps. In addition, we describe the current efforts to parallelize Zgoubi.
