Recent Progress on High Quality Electron Beam Generation through Plasma Based Acceleration at Tsinghua University
| Recent progress on plasma based acceleration at Tsinghua University will be presented. On the theory and simulation part, several ideas on how to obtain high quality electron beams with extremely high brightness through wakefield acceleration will be discussed in details, including two recently published works based on ionization injection method(PRL 111,015003,2013; PRL 112,035003,2014); On the experiment part, our recent results of high quality 20-30MeV electron beams with very low energy spread, with minimal absolute energy spread of 0.18MeV RMS and relative energy spread 0.8% RMS, will be presented. The latest results on the generation of 300-430MeV high quality electron beams (2-5% energy spread) using a 50TW laser at NCU will also be discussed. | ||
| WEPH06 | Design and Beam Dynamics Study of a C-Band Deflecting Cavity for Bunch Length Measurement | 35 |

Funding: NSFC 11327902 We design a C-band deflecting cavity at a resonance frequency of 5712MHz. We study the dynamics of the beams in the cavity to ensure that the cavity is suitable to work as a deflector in the future high-precision bunch length measurement of the electron beam. The deflecting cavity supplied by a RF source of 1MW can generate a deflecting voltage of 1.23MV. We obtain a positive correlation between the phases of the electromagnetic fields and the deflections in y-direction. |

| An X-band linac is designed to produce beam energy between 0.5MeV and 1.5MeV, and the output beam energy is continuously adjustable within this range. Two sections of linacs are combined and powered by a single microwave source. By tuning the RF phase and amplitude of the second section of the linac, the electron beam can see either acceleration or deceleration, which tunes the output energy. This paper presented the principle and the design of the linac, as well as the production of the whole system. | ||

Recently Progress of Tsinghua Thomson Scattering X-ray Source
| In the last three years, we have successfully generated high quality hard X-ray pulse at Tsinghua Thomson scattering X-ray source. The X-ray parameters, such as flux, beam profile, energy and spectrum, were measured successfully. One of the most interesting applications, x-ray phase contrast imaging, has also demonstrated on this facility. In this paper, we will show the recent progress of this facility in detail. | ||
