THPME029 Design of NSLS-II Booster Dipoles with Combined-function Magnetic Field 3570

  Fo­cus­ing and de­fo­cus­ing dipoles mag­nets of NSLS-II 3 GeV booster are de­signed, man­u­fac­tured and mea­sured in BINP, Rus­sia. The mag­nets should pro­vide the booster op­er­a­tion at en­ergy from 170 MeV to 3.15 GeV with a 2 Hz fre­quency. Be­cause of booster com­pact­ness the dipoles have quadru­pole and sex­tu­pole com­po­nents and should cre­ate high qual­ity of field of ± 2·10-4 in re­gion of ± 2 cm. In this paper the de­sign and re­sults of 2D and 3D sim­u­la­tion are pre­sented.
