The ef­fect of sur­face rough­ness on the sec­ondary elec­tron emis­sion from a sand­blast­ed sur­face is in­ves­ti­gat­ed using a Monte-Car­lo method. Sand­blast­ed sur­faces can sig­nif­i­cant­ly re­duce the sec­ondary emis­sion yield and have a large sen­si­tiv­i­ty to the per­cent­age of sur­face rough­ness.
